President's Message

Welcome to the WestSlope Chapter of Trout Unlimited. We are a Chapter that gets things done.

Thank you for your support, and please keep it coming, we are proud to be your voice and your representative for everything you love about cold, clean water and wild trout in WestSlope Country.

Our WSCTU mission statement:

“To conserve, protect and restore Missoula’s cold water fisheries and their watersheds and to serve and expand the Missoula fly fishing community through outreach and programs to women, kids, students, and veterans so we can accomplish even more”

Traditionally, our membership meetings and annual Banquet/Auction have been marquee social events and the rallying points for our chapter.

Our biggest challenge this year will be raising money to support conservation projects. Over the last few years we have raised between $100,000 and $132,000 each year to fund truly local conservation projects and fly fishing education. The need has not changed, in fact it has only become more apparent as we have seen WestSlope country’s popularity increase over the last two years. So, we are challenging ourselves, our members, our supporters and everyone who enjoys WestSlope country to come up with creative and fun ways to generate money to continue supporting projects that result in better fishing and a healthier environment.

WSCTU Mission Statement:
To conserve, protect and restore Missoula’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds and to serve and expand the Missoula fly fishing community through outreach and programs to women, kids, students, and veterans so we can accomplish even more.

Accomplishing Our Mission:
The WSCTU accomplishes our mission through relationships with board members, chapter members, fly shops, local businesses, government agencies, conservation organizations and other partners. We raise money and put that to work in the Missoula area.

Building and Maintaining Relationships
We build and maintain relationships through board engagement, member programs, creating an inclusive environment, welcoming new members and groups, creating value and sharing our successes and challenges with other TU chapters in Montana and beyond.

In 2022, the Chapter contributed over $100,000 to fund impactful and meaningful conservation projects. Click here for all the details. If you have a project that you’d like WSCTU funding, please click here and fill out the form.
