WSCTU Youth Programs
For over a decade, the Chapter has supported the Watershed Education Group with a yearly grant of $5,000.
WEN is dedicated to fostering knowledge, appreciation and awareness of watershed health through science and outreach. WEN provides river ecology knowledge and field science experiences to children and young adults throughout western Montana. Thousands of students have discovered the natural laboratories right in their own backyards through the efforts of WEN’s committed staff and volunteers. The WSCTU has been a proud supporter for over 10 years.
Georgetown Kid's Fly Fishing Camp
In conjunction with Montana Trout Unlimited, the Chapter supports the Georgetown Kid’s Fly Fishing Camp, held each July. We provide scholarships and volunteers to teach the kids fly tying, casting, entomology and stream ecology.
In 2020, the Chapter is going to ramp up its kids program by developing an introduction to fly fishing program for middle school and high school students. Headed by Board Member Laurie Lane, this is going to be a great program! Watch this space for more details.
