Ninemile Update
Over the past sixth months, Glacier Excavating has been building a floodplain and stream channel on an abandoned placer mine site in the upper Ninemile Valley. The final product produced 26-acres of floodplain and wetlands, 5,000 feet of new Ninemile Creek channel with 65,000 willow cuttings placed. Over 180,000 cubic yards of material (12,000 dump truck loads) were moved and shaped to recreate a floodplain before channel construction could begin. Truly a collaborative effort.
